It is the largest and oldest of the six museums under the administration of the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board. Aburi Botanical Garden Aburi Gardens is over a century old. It officially opened in 1890; the now century-old garden was originally established as a sanatorium for Gold Coast government officials. Today, the garden plays an important role as one of the world's 1,800 botanical gardens and is leading the fight to save plant diversity through research, conservation of medicinal plants, plant multiplication, and environmental education. Take a guided tour of the gardens, spice lawns, fruit, and exotic ornamentals. The high altitude makes Aburi noticeably cooler than neighboring Accra. Enjoy the view on the way up, climbing the hillsides of Aburi, which offers a picturesque view of Greater Accra. Boti Water Falls is an amazing waterfall embedded at the heart of the forest reserve at Huhunya, which is located about 17km Northeast of Koforidua, the regional capital. The falls are made of a male and female waterfall from two emerging rivers. The larger one is mythically believed to be the male, and the smaller one is the female. According to the indigenes, when the two merge, a rainbow is formed. It is usually said that these rivers are mating when this happens.
